
Rocks clinch Playoff spot with win over Surrey Scorchers
Rocks bounced back from a 78-70 defeat to London City Royals on Saturday, by defeating Surrey Scorchers 72-84 on Sunday afternoon to clinch a spot in the 2019 BBL Playoffs.

Scorchers came out hot and took an early lead in the 1st, but Rocks mounted a comeback, taking a 19-21 lead at the end of the 1st.

Rocks continued to keep lead throughout the majority of the 2nd quarter however, Scorchers made a late surge and snatched back the lead 41-36 by the halftime break.

Rocks came out raring to go in the third and outscored Scorchers 32-16. An impression three consecutive three’s made by Zeigler and Fraser allowing Rocks to take a double-digit lead.Â

Carpenter wowed the opposing crowd by hitting a two on the buzzer for the final quarter.

Rocks refused to take their foot off the gas in the final quarter and finished with an 84-72 win, securing their place in the 2019 BBL playoffs.
Bo Zeigler finished as the game’s top scorer with 18 points.
Rocks next game will be at home on the 28th of April when they will take on the Plymouth Raiders at 5:00PM.
