Rocks complete season sweep of the Giants

Rocks improved to 5 wins in a row on Thursday night, when they completed the season sweep of the Manchester Giants, defeating them 73-86.

Rocks were slow to get out the gate in comparison to previous games but went back-and-forth with the Manchester side throughout the first quarter, tying the game at 16 each at the end of the period. Bo Zeigler was quick to get in on the action as he scored 7 straight points in the quarter.

Rocks would pull away from the home team in the second quarter, as Jonny Bunyan checked in the game and knocked down three consecutive three-pointers to put Rocks up 26-38. Some strong defence prevented Giants from scoring allowing Rocks to take a 30-42 lead into the break.

Rocks would extend the lead even further in the third on the back of three triples from Gareth Murray, building a 23-point lead going into the fourth quarter.

Manchester made a late surge in the final quarter, outscoring the Rocks 30-20. However, this was not enough to cut into the lead and Rocks came away with the 73-86 victory in Manchester.

Rocks will now return to the Emirates on Sunday night to face the Leicester Riders at 5:00 PM. Tickets are still available here.
