Rocks defeat Raiders to secure place in Trophy semi-final

Rocks got their weekend double-header off to a strong start on Friday night with win 66-90 win over Plymouth Raiders to secure their place in the semi-final of the BBL Trophy Competition.

Rocks got going early in the game as Bouna Ndiaye opened the scoring and went on to score an early 7 points in the opening 5 minutes to give Rocks a 6-12 lead.

Rocks would end the first quarter with the lead and keep it to the half as every player got in on the action. Raiders had little answer for Rocks on the perimeter as Rocks knocked down shots from outside. Rocks then extended their lead to double-digits which they would retain going into halftime.

Rocks would come out raring to go in the second half, particularly in the fourth when they outscored Raiders 25-15. Raiders seemed to have no answers for Rocks on either end of the floor allowing Rocks space to capitalize.

When it was all said and done Rocks came away as victors in Plymouth securing their place in the semi-final of the BBL Trophy against London City Royals later this month.

Gareth Murray and Bouna Ndiaye were the leading scorers for Rocks, each scoring 17 points a-piece.

Attention is now turned to Sunday afternoon when Rocks conclude their road trip in Cheshire with a game against the Phoenix at 5:30 PM. You can watch Rocks live in action on
