Rocks elevate over Flyers to take win at home

After a loss in their first matchup of the season, Rocks knocked off Bristol Flyers 99-82 on Sunday night to move into the 9th spot in the BBL standings.

Rocks struck out to an early lead in the first quarter as Kenny Carpenter got in on the action with 7 quick points. Ali Fraser was also doing work inside and out, collecting easy buckets to give Rocks a 26-20 advantage at the end of the 1st.

Rocks were able to extend their lead to 8 in the second quarter after Greg Pryor came in and scored two three-pointer in quick succession to put Rocks up 34-26. Bristol would struggle to land a basket for the remainder of the half, allowing Rocks to take a 44-31 lead into the break.

Coming out of the break, Bristol would score 31 points in the quarter, allowing them to take the lead 4 minutes into the second half. However Rocks would respond as Gareth Murray three triples to give Rocks a 72-64 lead again heading into the final quarter.

The shooting woes continued for Bristol in the final quarter, allowing Rocks to take their third win in a row at 99-82.

It was a great team performance all around as 6 Rocks players finished in double figures. greg Pryor lead the way with 18 points while Ali Fraser also added 16 and Kenny Carpenter and Gareth Murray both also finished with 14 points.

Rocks are back in action this Tuesday when they face London City Royals in the first leg of the semi-final of the BBL Cup.
