Rocks return to the Emirates this Friday to face Worcester Wolves in the first round of the BBL Trophy. Rocks met Wolves once already this season in the league when they defeated the Worcester side 89-61 at the Emirates. Here’s hoping they can repeat that success on Friday.
The Wolves have only managed to claim one win this season but that does not mean they should be underestimated. Import forward Deshawn Freeman has been a force to be reckoned with since he arrived at the Wolves in early November, averaging 21 points and 14 rebounds per game, allowing Wolves to run teams a lot closer.
Wolves also pose a threat from outside with England international Adam Thoseby and Robert Crawford averaging 13.1 and 12.5 point per game respectively while both shooting 38% from three. Worcester have also seen productive minutes from American Darrell Combs at the point guard spot.
For the Rocks, with Greg Pryor out for the next few weeks, Kenny Carpenter will likely see additional minutes at the point guard spot and allowing Bouna Ndiaye to slide in as the two guard. Bouna dropped a season-high 26 points on the Wolves in their last game whilst playing at the two. Equally, Carpenter had a great outing last weekend against Manchester playing point guard where he went 5/5 from the field to finish the game with 12 points.
