Rocks looking to tip-off 2019 with a win

After a tough defeat in OT at the hands of Sheffield Sharks at the end of 2018, Rocks will be looking to bounce back in their first game of the new year.

Rocks face Cheshire Phoenix at home on Sunday evening as they look to get 2019 underway. Cheshire currently sit two spots ahead of Rocks in the standings with a 6-7 record. A team that does not travel well, Cheshire have only picked up 1 out of 5 wins in their last 5 games on the road.

Cheshire recently announced the signings of 1st year American Forward Jalen Hayes and the return of CJ Gettys, the American big man who was voted to the BBL Team of the Year and was 2nd in the MVP race last season. However, the one to look out for in this matchup will be Dii’ Jon Allen-Jordan. Now in his second year with the Phoenix, Allen-Jordan has been especially productive with averages of 17.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

It will be a tough matchup for Rocks to match Cheshire’s size and athleticism but with forwards Ndiaye, Achara, Murray and Fraser all coming off solid performances last weekend it will give us a lot of hope going into 2019.

Tickets for tomorrow’s fixture against Cheshire are now sold out. There will be limited tickets at the door so arrive early to avoid disappointment.
