It’s not much of a break for Rocks as they face a quick turnaround following their win over Bristol Flyers on Sunday night to head to London to face the Royals in the semi-final of the BBL Trophy.
In Rocks last matchup with the Royals they were defeated 84-70 at Crystal Palace in December. After being out for the season up until that point, Royal’s wing Ashley Hamilton saw his return in this matchup and knocked and came up with 24 points in his teams win. Rocks will need to watch out for Hamilton again as he has been averaging 12.6 points per game so far in the league and causing nightmares for opposing forwards throughout the BBL.
Center Matthew Bryan-Amaning has also been running amuck in the league with his incredible post presence. MBA had 19 points and has been averaging 18 points and 7.5 rebounds so far in the league. With those kind of numbers, a lot of attention will need to be paid to shutting down Amaning inside.
Royals are also an especially deep team who have a number of options on both sides of the floor. Rocks will have their work cut out if they are to stop the multiple threats that the Royals possess. Nevertheless Rocks have been playing great team basketball of late and have the facility for any player to get going on the right night.
