Rocks take down the Giants in Manchester

Rocks took the win in Manchester over the Giants as they defeated the side 76-83 in the BBL Championship.

Rocks jumped out to a strong start in the game as they went on to outscore the Manchester side 6-15 in the early going. Giants had little answer for Ali Fraser inside as he scored 10 points in the first quarter.

Rocks then continued to put on the pressure as they went up 24-9 over their opponents in with 3 minutes left in the third quarter. Great defense by the Rocks meant that nothing was falling for the Giants.

This carried over into the second quarter as Rocks went up big against Manchester. As both teams went to the locker room at halftime Rocks were firmly in control 29-50.

Coming out of the gate Rocks were slow to get going and this allowed Manchester to gradually narrow the gap. As Rocks were only able to score 8 points in the third, Manchester managed to trim their lead to 48-58 heading into the final quarter.

In the fourth Rocks kept Giants at bay to close out the game. Tadas Rinkunas scored 7 of his 16 points in the fourth and both Ali Fraser and Kieron Achara were sturdy at the free-throw line to see Rocks take the win in Manchester.

Rocks now return home to the Emirates next Friday in a game which will see them take on the Worcester Wolves in the first round of the BBL Trophy.
